The role:
We are looking to recruit a Brand Manager who is visionary ‘do-er’ with creative flair. We want an enthusiastic and organised individual, who is confident in the ownership of decisions, task management and an open-minded attitude, knowing that each day would bring something different!
Reporting to the Brand Director, the individual will have a challenging mind-set, an entrepreneurial and business minded spirit, and be a team player. Flexible and adaptable, the role requires enthusiasm and curiosity along with collaborative working and positive thinking. The company has a very approachable spirit and would want the individual to bring huge passion and energy to the role.
What you’ll be doing:
Overseeing all areas of the fragrance brand as well as supporting the Brand Director in successful management of Brand Owner relationship in order to maximise commercial potential of fragrance house, achieving budgets set by our internal leadership team.
Brand Management
Own the overall brand P&L and present annual budget & brand strategy to the Leadership team.
Support Brand Director in day-to-day relationship with Brand Owner collaborating in defining best strategy to manage relationship.
Liaise and obtain sign off for all creative assets and communication tools for markets, maximising on all opportunities.
Be champion/expert on translation into fragrance / beauty category of Brand.
Always adhere to brand guidelines whilst maximising potential of fragrance license, to achieve sales, profitability and market share targets.
Be a brand expert, be clear on the Brand DNA, champion new news and initiatives.
Accompany Sales Account Managers on sales/prospecting visits to key accounts and markets.
Define Worldwide RRP strategy.
Attend key trade shows.
Communications and Marketing
Research and Brief communication tools including designs for POS, PR/Social Media assets, working with Brand Owners & creative agencies as appropriate.
Liaise with key distributors/partners & other markets re delivery of agreed marketing plans and assist/supply launch brand books where required.
Work with Design team to create POS material including liaising with NPD/supply for delivery of POS.
Create assets and marketing materials as required, for trade marketing purposes including trade shows and conferences.
Create brand presentations for trade shows and ongoing commercial use with Design
Manage spend to agreed marketing budgets, working with BD & Finance manager.
Product Development / Management Cycle
Work with BD and NPD team on all product development and briefing (including design direction, number of SKUs, pricing to hit agreed margin levels, packaging, timing, other commercial/market needs etc).
Annual Brand Planning
Participate in collaborative processes with working groups of Commercial, Design, Finance and BD to align budgets.
Lead in creation of brand plans, together with establishing related costs for budgeting purposes.
Collaborate with Brand Director in any agreed actions/changes to brand plans following monthly analyses, including creating new initiatives within trade marketing and product development along with re-forecasting budgets where necessary.
What you’ll bring:
5 years plus experience in fragrance/beauty industry, working on major brands within the International/European environment being a global development lead with drive and commitment
Experience as a Brand Manager within the beauty industry
Brand strategy & positioning expertise with strong concept & communication skills combined with agency management skills (research, communication, PR‿)
Consumer focus and understanding, with experience/knowledge in digital marketing
Strong product sensibility with development skills
Licensor Management skills
Excellent written and oral communications, excellent presentation skills, as well as an ability to communicate with multiple cultures.
