IT Systems Administrator

The Fragrance Shop, the UK’s leading Independent Fragrance retailer are now recruiting for an IT Systems Administrator to join the growing IT team based out of our Head Office located in Trafford Park, Manchester.   

Reporting to the IT Infrastructure and Support Manager this role is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Systems Administrator who understands current threats and trends being faced both internally and externally with a keen eye on data, protection, backup, and recovery.

Person Specification

*       Group Policy Implementation and Management.

*       Firewall Log Monitoring / Management

*       Staff Starter / Leaver Management

*       Active directory Auditing

*       PowerShell, VB and Bash scripting

*       Data Loss Prevention technologies

*       Backup Monitoring and DR Management

*       Antivirus Management Technologies

*       Mobile device management

*       Azure Active Directory, Office 365 S&C, OneDrive, SharePoint, Exchange online

*       Understanding and configuration of VLAN/ACL/Load Balancing Rules & Port Forwarding 

*       2fa technologies

*       Support for Phone Systems utilising SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) trunks  

*       Understanding of Cyber Security best practises 

*       Palo Alto, FortiGate and pfSense Firewall installation and configuration. 

*       Industry leading backup technologies such as Veeam / Commvault / Acronis.

 

Responsibilities

*       Server Infrastructure MS Windows Server / Hyper-V

*       Proactive monitoring, reviewing, analysing, and interpreting security incidents and alerts.

*       Assisting with the ongoing improvement and development of the cyber-security protection, including but not limited to anti-malware, network security and vulnerability management.

*       Assisting with official investigations and providing detailed reports in relation to IT security and monitored activity.

*       Backup monitoring and backup testing.

*       Disaster Recovery process testing

*       Contribution into IT Policy change, controls, and governance

*       To provide technical and non-technical training to staff and users, supporting a security and data protection awareness culture

*       You will require a good understanding of cyber security to provide advice to staff, as necessary.

*       You will need good project management skills.

*       As this is a demanding and challenging but interesting role, you will need to be able to work under pressure and to deadlines.
