The Head of Supply Chain is responsible for the supply chain and oversight of the flow through of all products across both Group Brands and Trade, from how we source our products to how they leave our warehouse.   You will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing the existing product portfolio and any new products in the most efficient and cost-effective manner to offer the greatest benefit to the company as well as being responsible for all aspects of the procurement and supply chain function encompassing sourcing, planning, logistics, transportation and inventory management.  This is a new role to the business and a unique opportunity to help shape our future to enable our ambitious growth plans.

 

KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leading the department including purchasing, sourcing and planning of stock, including the adoption a critical path process.
  • Be responsible and have oversight of the management of stock levels/re-orders of stock.
  • Manage transfer of stock componentry to suppliers/fillers
  • Liaising with suppliers and transport team on all brand related shipments/collections
  • Ensure all new lines are correctly set up
  • Ensure the smooth ship-in & ship-out of collateral (retailer/influencer samples, ctu units)
  • Cost of Goods management – ensure these are correctly recorded and maintained
  • Demand Planning/Forecasting
  • Management of excess stock & out of date stock (excess sheet supplied every month, sales & marketing to review and propose action plan) initially help improve the data, frequency and reporting
  • Working with procurement managers and buyers to source the right product.
  • Partner with the sales department to build on product unit sales implementation as well as support strategies.
  • Ensure the smooth running of any overseas supply chains.
  • Negotiating contracts with suppliers and vendors.
  • Controlling outsourced manufacturing and delivery processes.
  • Planning and implementing logistical strategy, ensuring targets are met.
  • Overseeing product storage, handling and distribution.
  • Working on forecasts and inventories, keeping an accurate record of the process and analysing performance.
  • Be a motivating and inspirational figure in the business, leading and driving change at pace. 
  • Implementing new technologies and staying alert to new trends in the sector.
  • Building effective stakeholder relationships and working closely with sales and operations.
  • Develop a KPI dashboard for suppliers to measure supply performance.
  • Manage effective operation and ensure appropriate resource levels.
  • Act as the focus for all third-party interaction to encompass port, freight and haulage partners
  • Review the supply chain function, which will include the org chart, job functions, systems, and processes.
  • Try to reduce transactional activity by maximising systems in place, this will include a demand / forecasting bolt-on.
  • Map out the global movement of product, implementing solution to mitigate cost through customs warehousing, product routes etc.
  • Manage and review logistics partners / carriers for UK and international operations. This may need to be bench-marked and new partners introduced to the business.
  • Optimise inventory levels with the support of sales / key accounts.
  • Contribute to the leadership team, helping shape the business, and achieving growth expectations.
  • Lead and develop from the front, ensuring that the team is resourced to deliver the requirements of the business, and that they achieve appropriate mentoring and training & development, with clarity in setting goals and objectives 
  • Be a highly effective communicator and leader who works collaboratively across boundaries and achieves results through influencing others well. 
  • Focus on talent development, building effective teams that match the needs of the growing business.
  • Evaluate team capability and create a succession plan for key roles.

In order to be successful:

  • Manufacturing environment experience with good knowledge of quality standards.
  • Business process improvement mindset with project management skills.
  • Supplier development experience.
  • Strong ERP/MRP skills
  • Bachelor’s degree: Marketing or related (or equivalent experience). 
  • Previous experience of working in a fast moving, dynamic business. 
  • Experience of successfully managing a high performing team and develop future managers within the structure.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Able to articulately communicate at all levels and successfully build productive working relationships. 
  • A passion for fragrance and beauty. 
  • Have a strong operational track record on managing and improving supply planning, stock level management.
  • Demonstrate an analytical skill set, and a strong affinity with business systems (ERP, MRP, forecasting tools.
  • Have worked in high sku, consumer products based environments.
  • Input, as part of the senior leadership team, into tactical and strategic planning supporting the business and group vision
