Job title: Head of Growth — Subscription

Reports to: Digital Director

Location: Manchester, Trafford Park Office

About Scentaddict:

Scentaddict is the UK's leading fragrance subscription platform, part of The Fragrance Shop group. Every month, subscribers receive a curated designer fragrance sample — chosen by them, delivered to their door. With a growing subscriber base and ambitious plans for expansion, we are now looking for a commercially minded, data-driven growth leader to own and drive the Scentaddict strategy.

The Role:

This is a newly created, pivotal role at the heart of Scentaddict's next phase of growth. As Head of Growth — Subscription, you will own the full subscriber growth and retention strategy, acting as the primary stakeholder feeding directly into the Digital Director.

You will work cross-functionally across digital marketing, technology and store teams — translating data and insight into clear strategies that drive subscriber acquisition, improve retention.

Key Responsibilities

Growth Strategy:

  • Own and drive the end-to-end Scentaddict subscriber growth strategy.

  • Set clear KPIs for acquisition, retention, lapsed recovery and LTV.

  • Build and manage the P&L for subscriber growth — modelling discount levels, payback periods and break-even scenarios.

  • Identify and act on competitive threats (e.g. pricing, new entrants) with structured commercial responses.

Digital Marketing:

  • Define the growth strategy across all digital marketing channels — working closely with the existing channel teams (PPC, paid social, affiliates, CRM) to align activity behind subscriber acquisition and retention goals.

  • Act as the strategic lead feeding into all channel teams — you will not run campaigns yourself, but you will set the direction, hold teams accountable to subscriber growth outcomes, and ensure all activity is aligned to the Scentaddict strategy.

CRM & Retention:

  • Own the CRM strategy for Scentaddict — working closely with the CRM team to brief, develop and optimise subscriber lifecycle flows for onboarding, retention, win-back and up sell.

  • Develop and own the monthly scent review programme — briefing the relevant teams on implementation and using the resulting data to reduce churn and improve personalisation.

Data & Brand Partnerships:

  • Build out Scentaddict's customer data capability — turning subscriber behaviour into actionable insight.

  • Develop the brand partnership proposition — providing fragrance brands with rich demographic and preference data.

  • Identify commercial opportunities to monetise data insight as a product in its own right.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Proven experience in a subscription, DTC or growth-focused role.

  • Strong commercial acumen — comfortable with P&L, payback modelling and margin analysis.

  • A strong understanding of digital marketing channels (PPC, paid social, affiliates, CRM) — you don't need to run them, but you must be able to direct, challenge and hold them accountable.

  • Experience owning CRM strategy and working with CRM teams to deliver retention and lifecycle programmes — you set the brief and the goals, the team executes.

  • Data-driven mindset — able to turn insight into strategy and strategy into action.

  • Strong stakeholder management — comfortable leading cross-functional teams without direct line authority.

  • Entrepreneurial spirit — this is a build role, not a maintain role.

Desirable:

  • Experience in beauty, fragrance, fashion or lifestyle sectors.

  • Familiarity with subscription platform technology and microservice architecture.

  • Experience working with brand partners on data or co-marketing initiatives.

  • Knowledge of affiliate networks and closed user group (CUG) programmes.

Who You'll Work With

You will sit at the centre of the Scentaddict business, working directly with:

  • Digital Director: Your direct line — you feed strategy up and receive direction and support.

  • Digital marketing channel teams: PPC, paid social, affiliates and CRM.

  • Technology team.

  • Retail Team.
